Get inspired, then get to work.
WCFC Goalkeeper Academy is designed to develop goalkeepers of the highest caliber. The program is technically based with the emphasis being on individual development. The design of the program will deliver age group-specific sessions that will introduce and reinforce the mastery of goalkeeping techniques.
The program will also provide on-field tactical instruction at training sessions to incorporate the team aspect of goalkeeping. The combination of the technical and tactical aspects of goalkeeping will provide our goalkeepers with the foundation and the continued progress within the training and the game itself.
Controlling the Space
Reaction and diving
Angles and Positioning
Catching and handling
Crosses and highballs
These sessions are developed for ages U11-17 and will have a minimum of one age group-based session a week with the opportunity to attend additional sessions. Goalkeepers will have the opportunity to attend higher-level sessions as they show the desire and technical ability in age-level topics.
The Goalkeeper Academy is run by our Director of Goalkeeping, Victor Nogueira at firstname.lastname@example.org.
