2009 SURF CUP CHAMPIONS

2009 BOYS UNDER 14 SURF CUP CHAMPIONS

West Coast Boys U14 defeated northern California's Diablo FC 2-1 in overtime to capture the 2009 Surf Cup. Christian Carillo scored on a penalty kick late in the second half after being taken down in the box by Diablo FC's defender. The referee added over 4 minutes of injury time to the game, which was enough to enable Diable to score in the closing seconds to send the game into overtime. Steven Ortiz then scored the golden goal off a pass from Carillo shortly after the start of overtime. Goalkeeper Teddy Czaja lodged 5 shutouts in 6 games, with West Coast's offense outscoring their opponents 12-1.

The Boys U-13 team claimed, for the second year in a row, the title "US Youth Soccer FarWest Regional Champions".  As promised, the competition was tough, but our boys proved tougher.  Battling six games in as many days against state champions from Hawaii to Arizona, our boys had a near perfect tournament allowing only one goal while out scoring their opponents by 26 goals in 5 shut out games.  Congratulations boys on another brilliant victory!  You represented CalSouth and West Coast Futbol Club proudly at FarWest Regionals.

WEST COAST BOYS U-13 NATIONAL CUP CHAMPIONS AGAIN!!!
Back to Back Champions 2009, 2008

In a thrilling 3-2 victory the Boys U-13 team clinched the National Cup Championship title for the second year in a row defeating an always tough competitor, Legends FC.  The boys’ relentless offsensive pressure was only denied by the Legends FC Keeper’s simply outstanding saves in the first half.  But by the beginning of the second half our boys could not be denied.  With the second half whistle, our boys scored 3 goals in succession and Legends answered with two, but it was not enough.  On the road to the Championship game, the West Coast defense allowed only 2 goals but the team scored 25 goals against their opponents recording 4 out of 6 total games as shutouts.  Congratulations boys on a job well done!

DR.PEPPER DALLAS CUP XXX FINALISTS

Dallas Cup XXX U-13 Championship Game in Pizza Hut Stadium

Congratulations Boys on a fantastic tournament!!

Everyone saw it coming. Even in the semi-finals, the Boys were on a collision course with Dallas. The Dallas Cup media said:

West Coast FC and Dallas Texan Red are still on a collision course for the finals but first they have to avoid being tripped up by Southampton and Legends. WCFC is the complete package with a strong defense complimented with speed and skill up top. DTR 96 is an offensive juggernaut with the likes of Erick Chapa, Christian Ramirez; Ian Sadler and Emerson Hyndman."

The lead up to the final game was described by the Dallas Cup media as follows:

U13 Finals 12pm in PHP Stadium. The two teams knows they are good and understand the weight of this moment. Dallas Texan nation will be out in full force matched by an equally passionate WCFC away crowd. It’s must see soccer!

The Boys fell 1-0 to a tough Dallas Texans team -- the sole goal they let in in the tournament being the game winner in the final.  Five shutout games.  15 goals scored.  It was a great run, admired by many.
